I have a confession.....

A couple of years ago l organised my Face book page because l had a friend who was travelling over seas and it was a nice way of keeping in touch.

A lot of you have discovered my page and have asked to be my friend. i hope that is the correct terminology. I must confess, l have no idea how to use Face book so when l don't respond please don't be offended. It's not you, it's me.

Oh and l haven't worked out how to Twitter either. I can see you shaking your head. To be honest I am ecstatic l have blogging under my belt.

Happy 4th of July.....

To all the lovely readers from America, happy 4th of July to you. I hope your celebrations go well.

What I've been up to.....

Sorry l didn't blog yesterday. My computer at the shop has died and I am waiting for my IT man George to come and do some repairs. I am hoping that most of my emails have come through on my laptop, but that doesn't always happen so l can't be sure.

Narelle, Kerry has received the magazine she was missing. Thank you so much for helping her out.

Robyn I haven't been able to ring you because the email with your phone number is on the other computer.

Meanwhile l am trying to get the Christmas in July pics.and the blog addresses of those who have blogged about what they have received on so that you can check them It. Please bear with me.

And the reason l am a little bit behind is that at 3.50 yesterday l got the last of the stock counted (yipppee, just have to collate it now which is the easy bit).So l haven't been sitting around twiddling my thumbs l promise.

Happy Christmas in July to you.....

Most of you will know that in January l invited people to sign up for the Christmas in July Swap. We had 60 people interested  which l found staggering.

You got a list and a partner to make for. I know you have all been busy over the past few months so that your parcels would be ready to be sent off and opened on July 1st.

And that day has finally arrived. So to you each of you who took part please, we'd love to see a pic of what you receive.

Thank you so much for joining in on the swap. I hope you have enjoyed it and perhaps made another cyber friend.

Two new albums.....

Promised you a couple of freebies on the 1st of July. They are not rocket science. Just meant to be a little bit of fun.

The first album is a Christmas in July Album. Each week throughout July l will add a very simple Christmas project. This week it's a Christmas diary made out of felt. I enjoy writing and making lists. So everything I do that has something to do with the up and coming Christmas goes in this little book. I write the menu and note where each recipe can be found. I also add ideas for pressies and anything else that comes to mind. It's nice to look back on if you like that sort of thing.

The next one is a 6 inch Sampler. Each month l will add instructions for a new block. Something that means something to me. There will be 9 blocks in all and then instructions on how l put mine together.

I am assuming that most of you have some experience with sewing otherwise you wouldn't know about Mrs Martin's Quilt Shop blog. Therefore l have kept the instructions very simple and not too wordy. If there's something you don't understand let me know and I'll be more specific.

If you manage to complete a block for the 6inch sampler send a pic and I'll be in touch with a small thank you voucher. Have fun.

Monday Update.....

We had Sewing at St George's on Saturday. I still can't believe how smoothly it all went. The ladies had lots of fun and some even managed a spot of stitching. Thanks to those who came, hope you enjoyed yourselves.

Those mighty Saints (my football team) won yesterday. That's 13 in a row with a huge match coming up next Sunday against Geelong (hello to the Geelong girls if you read this). Both sides are undefeated so far this year.

And today l started the stock take. Even that is going better than l could have imagined.

A few reminders. The July calendar is now on the blog. Visit again on July 1st to see the free projects you can do. Nothing earth shattering, just a bit of fun for those who want to take part.

Hope yours was a great weekend.

Oh and one last thing. Have had a lot of emails from the Christmas in July Swap ladies. They have been busy posting their parcels. So far no one has owned up to opening their goodies. Only 2 more sleeps to go. Hope you let me know what you receive.

I'm doing well.....

Have just added the July Calendar to the blog. You may like to check if you are coming up for a night sewing circle. Dates  may have been changed due to the school holidays.

My work here is done, l am going home to watch Grey's. Another night of crying in front of the TV.

I love you ladies.....

Tonight Narelle has made Kerry one very happy lady. She found the pattern Kerry has been looking for.

I am starting to feel like there is nothing l can't solve!

It's early but what the heck.....

Have to set up for Sewing Day on Saturday and then start the stock take on Monday and so l am trying to be a little bit organised. Have added the July Christmas Club project to the album. It's a design for a table runner l rather like from Viv's Creations. For more details visit the album.

Christmas is....

Can you help Kerry?.....

My friend Kerry who is also known as Queen Bubbles 'n Baubles (yes she is a Red Hatter) was most impressed by how quickly we were able to help Mary Jo find a pattern she was after. Kerry is also asking for some help.

She is after the mag that features a quilt called Australian Wildflowers Album by Jenny Rofe. It was in 3 parts and she already has 2. All she needs now is a copy of APQ Vol 13, No. 9. If you can help out l'd love to hear from you.

Kerry hoped that it wasn't a bother putting out the request. I think we are all only too happy to help out if we can.
